Tell us about yourself and your story, how did you end up where you are?
I have always embraced opportunities where I could meaningfully contribute by drawing on my previous experiences while continuously learning and evolving professionally. My journey has taken me across the UAE, Europe, and the United States, each step driven by a passion for impactful projects and a desire to challenge myself.
My career began at Booz Allen Hamilton, where I focused on strategy and corporate development. This foundation led me to significant roles, such as Chief Strategy Officer at the AW Rostamani Group and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at OSN. These positions allowed me to apply my strategic insights while continuously learning and growing.
The turning point in my career came with the founding of C3 – Companies Creating Change. Inspired by the potential of purpose-led businesses, which I first witnessed in my hometown of Ivrea, Italy, through the globally successful Olivetti, I launched C3 to help businesses make a positive impact on society. In 2015, as the UN adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), C3 launched its SDG-focused accelerator programme. Recognized as a UN SDGs pioneer in 2017 for our contribution to Goal #17, “Partnerships for the Goals,” C3 scaled its impact with backing from institutions like HSBC, expanding from the UAE to nine countries in the MENAT region.
Today, as a part of Global Ventures, we invest in mission-driven companies with the potential to scale globally. Our portfolio includes impactful companies like Tabby, the first regional fintech unicorn, and iyris, which contributes significantly to food security with its transformative farming technology.
