What are the top 3 core values in life?
The top three core values in my life are integrity, innovation, and social responsibility. These values guide my professional and personal decisions.
What personality traits make a good leader?
Good leaders exhibit traits like effective communication, empathy, adaptability, and a visionary/global mindset. They inspire and empower others while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your career? How did you overcome it and what did you learn from it?
One notable challenge in my career involved navigating a complex international merger that faced unforeseen regulatory hurdles. To overcome this, I assembled a specialized team with expertise in the specific jurisdictions involved. We conducted exhaustive research, engaged with local regulatory authorities proactively, and developed alternative strategies to address the legal complexities.
The key to overcoming this challenge was a combination of meticulous planning, effective communication with stakeholders, and a proactive problem-solving approach as well as a very effective and professional team within Baker McKenzie. By fostering collaboration and staying adaptable, we successfully steered the merger through regulatory obstacles, highlighting the importance of a well-prepared and agile team in handling unexpected challenges in the legal landscape.
In what ways do you foster innovation and creativity within your organization?
I foster innovation by encouraging a culture of open communication, where team members feel empowered to share ideas. Implementing brainstorming sessions, cross-functional collaboration, and providing resources for professional development are essential components of promoting creativity within the organization.
What strategies do you use to stay ahead of the curve in your industry?
Staying ahead involves continuous education, staying informed on industry trends, fostering a culture of innovation within my team, and actively participating in forums, conferences, and networks that promote knowledge exchange. Embracing technological advancements and anticipating market shifts are integral strategies for maintaining a competitive edge.
What distinguishes you from competition or other companies?
What I believe sets me apart is a combination of experience, recognition by prestigious legal publications, and a commitment to innovation. Co-founding NGOs and providing free legal advice through mentoring showcases my dedication to social impact and supporting startups beyond traditional legal services. Also, being selected as a Young Global Leader, has helped me become more business driven than many other lawyers, as I am constantly in high-level business conversations with C-Level executives.
Who is your role model or inspiration in your life?
My role model is someone who combines legal excellence with a commitment to social impact. Inspirations include individuals who’ve excelled in the legal field while contributing significantly to community and entrepreneurial growth. One of my biggest role models is Christine Lagarde, who coincidentally was also our CEO before she went into the public sector.
How do you balance the pursuit of wealth and success with personal fulfillment and happiness?
Balancing wealth and success with personal fulfillment involve setting meaningful goals aligned with my values. I prioritize work-life balance, engage in activities that bring joy, and maintain strong personal connections. Success, for me, includes making a positive impact beyond financial achievements. My work makes me happy, therefore I believe that in that way, I am already successful.
What are the main factors that led you to where you are right now?
The key factors that brought me to this point include a strong educational foundation, dedication to continuous improvement, seizing opportunities, having amazing mentors, building meaningful relationships, and a commitment to making a positive impact on both the legal and social fronts.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I envision myself continuing to drive innovation in the legal and entrepreneurial space, possibly expanding my impact globally and contributing to positive changes in the industry and in the region. I see myself being part of the social change in my country and continue helping new generations.
Can you name 3 books that changed your life and what did you learn from them?
There are three impactful books for me are: “Innovators Dilemma” by Clayton M. Christensen: It shaped my perspective on disruptive innovation. “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries: Taught me principles of efficient startup management. “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho: Emphasized the importance of pursuing one’s dreams and listening to one’s heart.
In light of your journey and experiences, what message would you like to convey to aspiring entrepreneurs/professionals?
For young professionals or entrepreneurs, my advice is to embrace continuous learning, build a strong network, and stay adaptable. Be open to new challenges and opportunities.
