The Geneva Foundation for Technological Innovation (FONGIT) celebrated its 30th anniversary with a ceremony attended by over 200 entrepreneurs, politicians, investors, and startupper. The incubator presented its latest report on its social and economic impact on the region, showcasing its achievements over the past three decades. Over the last ten years, FONGIT has played a significant role in creating over 1,500 jobs, including 500 direct jobs in the canton, attracting talent, promoting competition, fostering innovation, andgenerating tax revenue for the region. The incubator supports 130 startups and offers
a full-service innovation platform that provides hosting, coaching, administrative, governance, legal support, and access to financing.
Igor Fisch, President of FONGIT, stated that supporting innovation and entrepreneurship is crucial for creating a prosperous and sustainable future for generations to come. Antonio Gambardella, Director of FONGIT, emphasized the importance of FONGIT’s approach to innovation, which includes partnering with research institutes and universities.
FONGIT was founded by Swiss entrepreneur Jean-Pierre Etter, who learned the importance of supporting innovation and startups after experiencing failure twice before achieving success with his company, LEM.
